Silent, sneaky, infiltrating, dangerous, working against all the good of the whole.

One condition – Many Imbalances:  While some see excess weight as obesity, I see it as an outward sign of inflammation and imbalance. One condition due to one or many imbalances of inflammation, endocrine, nutrition and exercise, mood disorders, genetics, or epigenetics. While we cannot change our genetics, we can alter gene expression for better or worse.

One Imbalance – Many conditions:  Some of us may not have such a red flag of our inflammation; it might be slowly and stealthily working its black magic. One imbalance, many conditions that can arise from it: Depression, Arthritis, Diabetes, Cancer, heart disease, and skin conditions to name a few.

Often, we are unaware of its presence until it reaches a point demanding our attention.

Our bodies are amazing things; they have the ability, given the tools, to modulate and correct themselves and even without this, they will always do their best to obtain and maintain homeostasis.

There are ways for us to suppress inflammation with inflammatory modulators. Alternatively, we can stir up the inflammation with other not ideal food and life choices.

The inflammatory modulators found naturally in food and nature are:

  • Ginger
  • Garlic
  • Turmeric or Curcumin
  • Fish Oils
  • Liquorice (not the artificial lolly one)
  • Vitamin K, Resveratrol, Quercetin, Bromelain
  • Bilberry, St Mary’s Thistle, and Pine Bark extract
  • Aloe Vera

Including the foods regularly in our diet, in combination with good-quality water, organic foods, and good sleep, would be fantastic for your body systems to modulate the inflammatory process.

Foods and other detrimental products that we then need to omit or stay clear of as much as possible include sugars, alcohol, overly processed foods, unnatural elements in food, beverages, skin, hair and body products and cleaners etc.

Most importantly, minimise stress as its long-term impact is significant and harmful.

What do you find reduces your stress?  What has worked for you in the past that you have stopped and may be able to bring back, if even in a small way?
